First Jonquil was being evaluated for the breeding program. She was dropped a few weeks into the evaluation due to a minor health issue. Luckily, it didn't knock her out of the game.
Jonquil was placed into training back in December or early January...(I can't remember.... Sorry) I do remember that she started climbing the training phases at a fast pace. She sat in phase 8 of 8 for what seems like months. Finally when she was matched with someone we were notified she was placed back into training.
Well......... I am proud to say that Jonquil is officially a Guide Dog for the Blind!!!!
Unfortunately, we were unable to make it to the graduation. I thought that there was nothing that would make me miss a graduation. We RSVP'd we were going but at the last minute we were unable to make it. I am saddened that I couldn't make it. Very much so, but I couldn't have been any happier to send a new and very devoted puppy raising family to take our place. It was their first graduation and we got a great report back! Jonquil ended up in THE most perfect home. I can't wait to contact her new partner. It fills me with joy that our fellow puppy raising family was able to have the experience of handing over Jonquil, and wishing her and her new partner luck on their new journey in life. There is something about attending a graduation that helps you feel great purpose for all that time of puppy raising.
